Purpose
In keeping with his ongoing desire to better support families in the journey of faith, Archbishop Lori has announced his decision to change the standard age of Confirmation in our Archdiocese. Over the course of the next several years, all parishes in the Archdiocese of Baltimore will undergo a process of transition, shifting from the typical time of Confirmation down to the age of 9 years (roughly 4th grade).
Our parish/pastorate is not scheduled to begin the phase-in process until the fall of 2026, and it could take several years to complete the change. We will be in communication about when and how this change will unfold in our community. This also means that Confirmation for students in the upcoming 10th grade will be confirmed later in 2025/early 2026 depending on the bishops schedule and will be phased out after that time. For more information about the upcoming change in Confirmation age, please see the “Frequently Asked Questions” file below.

Confirmation Preparation
Rising 10th graders who have completed 1 year of preparation in our program will be confirmed later this year or early 2026 based on the bishops’ schedule. We will not be accepting new 10th graders for this year’s Confirmation preparation.
Adult Confirmation
This is a process that is very streamlined and allows individuals who are 18 and older who haven’t been confirmed yet to prepare for and receive the sacrament of Confirmation.
Celebrations for the group confirmation are typically held in October and on Pentecost Sunday (happens to be in June this year).
